From Digits to Solids: A STEM Educational Clock

This clock perfectly demonstrates digital logic, mechanical transmission, and sensor principles, making it an excellent STEM teaching aid. Through an optional transparent side panel (or a semi‑open wooden back), you can clearly see how the seven push‑rod segments extend or retract according to BCD code (or an internal decoder circuit), and how micro‑switches detect the extension to light up the LEDs. Students can manually remove and reassemble individual actuator modules to understand the complete chain of “input → mechanical action → feedback → display”. The solid wood case is not only beautiful but also durable and impact‑resistant. It is both a clock and a living engineering lesson.
