A Duet of Light and Structure: LED‑Lit Mechanical Digits

The highlight of this clock is the dual feedback of “push‑pull + illumination”. When a mechanical segment (e.g., segment c) is extended by its actuator, a micro‑switch or optical sensor at the tip triggers the LED inside that segment. This means that digit “1” is formed by the physical extension of segments b and c, and those two segments emit a soft glow while all retracted segments remain dark. Light follows only the mechanical structure, as if a pen were drawing a glowing outline. The solid wood case softens the technological edge, creating a warm domestic atmosphere.
